Hexie Flower Crochet Quilt
✨ Hexie Flower Quilt Guide ✨
In 2024 I made this rather lovely Crochet Quilt made up of mini
hexies, joined together to make flowers in the style of English Paper Piecing (EPP) quilts. This isn't a full and complete written pattern in my usual syle, but I
did want to bring together all the information I have about making
these hexie flowers and show you how I'm joining them into a quilt.
Description
Not a pattern as such, but you can help on how I made mine
and some tutorials below...
Skill Level
Easy/Intermediate
Basic crochet stitches needed for the mini hexies.
Joining is a little more tricky, but I have a video to take you through it
Yarn
Flowers | I'm using a mix of left-over and stashed 4ply/fingering weight minis
Background | Drops Baby Merino in White (01)
Substitutions
Most yarns will work well for these, choose a yarn that is suitable for your
project.
Hook | 2.5mm (I'm using one size down from the recommended size.)
Use an appropriate size hook for your yarn - but you may wish to use a
slightly smaller
size hook (as I have done) to get nice tight hexies!
Size | One Hexie Flower is 10ch (4") across, but this will vary with
your yarn
Video Tutorials
Border
I backed my quilt with fabric and finished the edge with quilt binding.
I do not have a tutorial for this, but you can see a video of me working this
final stage of the blanket below
