Sunbeam Squares

A lacy square motif inspired by a vintage shawl handed down to me from my Nan. The squares can be combined using ‘Join As You Go’ technique to create larger pieces of fabric.

A full written pattern for a square motif and half square version, which includes joining instructions, stitch abbreviations and a layout diagram.

Basic stitches and a simple motif pattern. An intermediate joining technique is used.

Yarn

Stylecraft Naturals 50g, 250m (273 yards)

60% Bamboo/40% Cotton 1 balls makes approx 15 motifs

Yarn Substitutions

Any DK cotton or or cotton blend yarn

Hook | 3.5mm (E US)

Notions | Yarn needle,  Optional: Curtain wire set for Window Hanging

Gauge | 1 motif - 10cm (4”) square

Size | Customisable, motifs are joined using Join As You Go to create the size you need.
